Public is taking the best parts of social media platforms like Twitter and creating a space where new investors can come and interact with not only the stock market, but investor veterans and their trending thoughts.
It's a mobile broker that's taking the internet by storm, and many Venmo users are wondering how to link their Venmo to Public, so they can start building wealth for themselves.
You may be one of these folks - welcome! Today we're going to show you exactly how to transfer from Venmo to Public, as quick and painless as possible.
Right now there isn't a way to directly transfer funds from your Venmo into Public.
Instead, you'll have to move the funds to your associated bank account and transfer the money into Public from there.
Here's each step we'll go over together:
Before we get anything started in Public, let's make sure your money is available inside the bank you'll be using.
Go into your Venmo app, and perform the following steps to transfer your cash into your bank:
The instant transfer is nice, but unless you're in a real bind, we recommend keeping your money and choosing the free transfer. Why leave money on the table?
If you don't have a bank linked to your Venmo yet, here's how to do that:
You may have to verify your identity when linking your bank to Venmo, and the manual option can take up to 3 business days to process. After you've linked up your first bank, you'll be able to transfer money out of Venmo.
Now we'll set up your Public account.
You can still start this step even if the money hasn't settled from your bank transfer from step 1.

This process can take up to 10 business days, but doesn't always take that long.
You might find a prompt to link your bank while signing up with Public - either way, here's the steps to get it done:
If you choose the micro-deposit option, it will take around 5-7 business days to fully link your bank account.
Public will send you 2 micro-deposits (small deposits of cash) which you'll need to verify the amounts inside the app.
Now that everything is in place with your bank account and Public, you can deposit the money from Venmo into Public. Sweet, sweet victory.
Log into Public and do the following:
Bank transfers into Public can take up to 5 business days, but they allow users to invest with "instant cash" up to a certain amount as soon as the deposit is initiated.
Public is a great place to learn the ins and outs of investing, especially in such a dynamic market we're seeing nowadays.
Make sure to follow your friends who are already on the app, and tell your friends about Public to get them thinking about investing in their future as well!
